The vicarage picture rail

Thursday 10 October, 2013

We recently installed our vicarage picture rails as part of a renovation carried out on an old 1800's vicarage.

Not only do they allow pictures/paintings to be hung in the traditional manner (no nails required here), the picture rails are a great way of breaking up the high ceilings which are often found in these types of building, making it feel much more cosy.

You can complement your walls by using different coloured paints on the rails to introduce contrast with the walls (or in this case the wallpaper).

The rail used in this example is our 'The Vicarage' rail.
